Mohammad and Hassan Bavari, two brothers and residents of Ahwaz, who were arrested by security forces in December, were transferred to Sepidar Prison in Ahwaz.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, two brothers, Mohammad and Hassan Bavari, Arab residence of Baharetan street, Ahwaz, who were arrested by Ahwaz Intelligence Services agent, were transferred to Sepidar prison after completing the interrogation on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020.
According to the report, Ahwaz intelligence officials arrested the two brothers after searching their house and taken them to the intelligence office for interrogation and confession on Monday, December 23rd, 2019.
Karim Dahimi, a human rights activist, confirmed the news and quoted a relative of the citizens as saying to the campaign: “The Intelligence Services forces arrived at Hassan Bavari’s house to arrest him on Monday, January 1st, 2020. After searching the house and discovering two Hunting guns, which were also licensed, they arrested his brother Muhammad as well.
According to relatives of the two brothers, security forces transferred the two brothers to Sepidar Prison in Ahwaz after ten days of interrogation for forced confessions.
The exact reasons for the arrests and the charges against the two citizens are not known at this time. The investigating officer has not considered the Ahwaz Intelligence Agency’s report accurate and completed and for the reason of further investigation on the case, has not granted bail for the brothers.
