The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Agents arrested the French-Iranian citizen in Tehran.
Radio Zamaneh reported that Fariba Adelkhah, a researcher at the Paris Institute for Political Studies (CSNP), was arrested by Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces in her private home in Tehran on June 7th, 2019. The researcher has dual Iranian and French citizenship. The reason for the arrest of Fariba Adelkhah has not been officially announced, but she is said to have been accused of spying for France.”
In addition, according to a few people on social media networks, Adelkhah has been transferred to solitary confinement in Section 2A of the IRGC Detention Center.
She traveled to Iran with her French friend.
The authorities in Iran and the domestic media have not yet responded to this arrest.
Fariba Adelkhah, a sociologist and researcher based in Paris, has lectured at Iranian universities in addition to attending scientific assemblies in various countries of the world, including lectures on topics such as economics and politics, and has been frequent visitor to Iran.
Fariba Adelkhah is a researcher at the National Foundation for Political Science in Paris, a state-owned center known briefly as “Political Science.” The foundation includes education, scientific research, archives, a rich library,12 research laboratories, and 60 researchers of which half are dependent on the CNRS Government Center, and the other half hired by Political Science Center in Paris.
