Today May 5th, 2019, Tohid Amir Amini, a citizen from Ardebil who has been detained since February 20th, 2019, was transferred to Section 4 of Evin Prison.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Sunday, May 5th, 2019, Turkish civil rights activist Tohid Amir Amini was transferred from Detention Center 209 of the Ministry of Information located in Evin Prison to Secton 4 of the prison.
He was arrested on February 20th, 2019, along with Kianoush Aslani, another citizen from Ardebil, while distributing posters related to the International Day of Mother Languages Day. It is said that another defendant of the case, Mr. Aslani, had been transferred to Ward 4 of Evin prison one month earlier.
Tohid Amir Amini and Kianoush Aslani were charged on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “gathering and collusion against the security of the country”.
Kianoush Aslani is a graduate student of Civil Engineering at Azad University of Tehran.
Tohid Amir Amini was previously arrested by security forces and was sentenced to prison and lashes by the judiciary.
It is necessary to explain that at the present time, there are three Turkish civilians (Azeri) named Tohid Amir Amini, Kazem Safa Bakhsh, and Kianoush Aslani who are detained in Section 4 of Evin Prison.
