No information is available on the status of Asal Mohammadi, a civil activist and editor-in-chief of the Gham magazine, who was recently detained by security forces.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, there has been increasing concern over Asal Mohammadi’s situation, a civil activist arrested by security forces on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, especially with the lack of knowledge of her state over the past 5 days.
Gam magazine announced on its telegram channel, “Today, on Saturday, December 8th, 2018, there are still strong concerns about Asal Mohammadi’s health and situation, even despite many follow ups and with the presence of her family.”
The publication believes that the detention of Ms. Mohammadi was in connection with her support for the protesters of the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane workers’ and Ahwaz steel workers’ protests.
Asal Mohammadi is a student of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Azad University, Tehran, and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Gham Magazine, a civil activist and defender of workers’ rights.
