Hamed Nargessi, a member of the Divandareh Trade Union Association, was arrested last night by the city security forces and was transferred to the Sanandaj Revolutionary Guard Information Detention Center. This arrest took place as one of the activists of the Divandareh Trade Union Association was detained in Sanandaj Revolutionary Court Information Detention Center on Monday, November 12th, 2018.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Saturday night, November 24th, 2018, Hamed Nargessi, a member of the Divandareh Trade Union Association was arrested by Sanandaj Revolutionary Guard Intelligence agents and transferred to the Sanandaj Revolutionary Guard Information Detention Center in Amfar.
Shahed Alavi, a reporter and human rights activists wrote on his Facebook page: “Last night Hamed Nargessi, a member of the Divandareh Trade Union Association was arrested by Sanandaj Revolutionary Guard Intelligence agents and transferred to the Sanandaj Revolutionary Guard Information Detention Center in Amfar. Hamed Nargessi is a teacher for 25 years and has 3 children.”
According to an informed source, “Last night, the Plainclothes agents entered his house, searched his house, and arrested him without any court order.”
Until now, there was no information on the reasons for the arrest and the charges against this teacher.
Omid Shah Mohammadi, another member of the Divandareh Trade Union Association was arrested the day prior to the start of the second round of teachers’ strikes in Iran on Monday, November 12th, 2018.
An informed source told campaign: “Despite the family’s follow-ups and the promises of the Divandareh Education Department for the release of this imprisoned teacher, he is still in detention.”
There is no information on the reasons for Omid Shah Mohammadi arrest and charges against him. During his 12-day arrest, this teacher has only been able to have a telephone conversation with his family and he is still under stress and interrogation.
On November 17th, 2018, the Teacher Association of Kurdistan issued a statement condemning the arrest, threatened and summoned the civil activists, and warned against an increase in the wave of these arrests.
