The status of Mohammad Saleh Shokri, a teacher from Saqez city, has not been known for more than a week.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the status of Mohammad Saleh Shokri, a teacher from Saqez city, who was arrested by security forces on October 7th, 2018, has not been known for nearly ten days.
A source close to the family of the teacher told the campaign’s reporter; “Mohammad Saleh, with more than 24 years of teaching experience, is currently being held at the Saqez Information Bureau.”
The source further explained: “despite the fact that he has been detained for 10 days, his condition has not yet been reported and his family has been told that until further notice, he has no visitation right”
The campaign earlier reported on details of his arrest on October 9th, 2018.
The Saqez resident has arrested on charges of “cooperating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties”.
He has been denied access to calls and concerns have been raised regarding his status.
The security forces have always summoned and arrested civil society activists with charges of cooperating with Kurdish parties, using propaganda against the regime and acting against national security, with the aim of suppressing Kurdish activists and creating terror in the region.
This is despite the fact that many detainees say that these allegations have no basis and that their confessions were under pressure from security forces interrogators.
