Dariush Darabi, a resident from Arak, was sentenced to imprisonment for attending a protest rally in the city’s center.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Branch 103 of the Arak Penal Code sentenced Dariush Darabi to prison terms for attending a protest rally in the city.
Dariush Darabi’s lawyer, Mohammad Najafi, wrote in a memo that his client was sentenced to one hundred and eighty-one days of imprisonment and thirty lashes on charges of “disturbing the order” on August 2nd, 2018.
The lawyer further explained in his note that he was sentenced to six months in prison for being charged with “insulting the leadership” by the second branch of the Arak Revolutionary Court.
