Sina Darwish Omran and Ali Mozaffari, were each sentenced to 8 years imprisonment, two years of travel ban to outside Iran, and denial of political activities with political parties and in cyberspace.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Sina Darvish Omran, a graduate student from the German-language Translation Department of Tehran University, and Ali Mozaffari, a graduate student from the Anthropology Department of Tehran University, each were sentenced to 8 years imprisonment, two years of travel ban to outside Iran, and denial of political activities with political parties and in cyberspace, in the lower court of Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Salavati.
It should be noted that according to Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, five years from these sentences are applicable to any of the individuals mentioned.
From the beginning of the nationwide protests in Iran, since December 2017, security agencies have arrested many students from different universities throughout the country.
