Osman Esmaili, a labor activist from Saqhez, was released on April 16th, 2018 after two months of imprisonment. On International Labor Day he was re-arrested in Saghez, and two days later, on May 3rd, 2018, was transferred to the prison ward of Saghez.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Osman Esmaili , a labor activist from Saqez, who was released on April 16th, 2018, after serving two months of imprisonment, during the International Labor Day, May 1st, 2018, was re-arrested in Saghez, and after the issuance of 32 million Tomans bail, on May 3rd, April 3rd, he was transferred to the prison ward of Saghez. It should be noted that this activist has been interrogated and put on trial three times during the past month.
A source close to the worker’s family told the campaign:
“In late winter, 2017, just ten days after Osman Esmaili presented himself to the Saghez prison for a 2-month sentence, the security guards went to his house and presented the summons order for him and requested for him to appear before the third branch of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the and Revolutionary Court of Saqhez within five days, if Not, they will issue a arrest warrant for him “(while Osman Esmaili was in prison at that time).
On November 21, 2015, this labor activist, Osman Esmaili, was charged of participating in the International Labor Day ceremony and sentenced to one year of imprisonment. Later, after review by the Revolutionary Court of Saqez City and the renewal court, the sentence was reduced to two months of imprisonment in Saqhez prison
