According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mohammad Mehdavifar, the poet of famous poetry Alephba was again sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by Aran and Biedghal (Kashan) Court, Branch 102 on charges of publishing lies with the intention disturbing public opinion.
In August 2017, 48 years old Mohammad Mehdavifar, a veteran of the eight-year war between Iran and Iraq, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and 4 years of exile to Khash In southeastern Iran on the charges of propaganda against the regime, insulting the leadership and insulting Ayatollah Khomeini. In his appeal, his sentence was reduced to 2 years imprisonment.
On January 14th, 2018, he was arrested in Mashhad and transferred to Isfahan Central Prison to serve his two-year sentence. He is currently serving his sentence.
Mohammad Mehdavifar has repeatedly been arrested for poems, letters to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, letters to Pope, letter to Barack Obama, as well as participation in peaceful gatherings, and charged with charges such as propaganda against the regime, insulting the leadership, disturbing public order and communicating with the other hostile countries.
