Aida Amouei, a women’s rights activist in Sanandaj, has been arrested by the Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Friday, January 17, 2025, 40-year-old Aida Amouei, a women’s rights activist and taekwondo coach from Sanandaj, was arrested by Intelligence Department forces and taken to an unknown location.
A source close to the Amouei family stated, “Intelligence forces arrested Aida Amouei at her taekwondo club without presenting any judicial warrant and with excessive use of violence.”
Aida Amouei, who is married, a mother of two, and a taekwondo coach, had recently been pressured and threatened by the Intelligence Department to cease her online activities.
