Idris Manbari, Nozhin Association Board Member, Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Idris Manbari, a member of the board of directors of the Cultural and Social “Nozhin” Association, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Idris Manbari was charged with “forming groups and factions with the intention of disrupting national security.” He received a one-year mandatory prison sentence and a one-year suspended sentence, amounting to a total of two years. This sentence was officially communicated to him on December 9, 2024.

Reports to the Campaign indicate that a previous 10-year prison sentence for this Nozhin member was overturned by the appellate court, and his case was referred back to the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. Earlier, Idris Manbari had been sentenced to 10 years of mandatory imprisonment on the same charge by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, a verdict that was conveyed to his lawyers on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

In October 2023, he was also sentenced in absentia by Branch 106 of the Second Criminal Court of Sanandaj to one year of mandatory imprisonment, exile to Dieselabad Prison in Kermanshah, and 40
