According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Monday October 21, 2024, Payam Fathi, a labor activist, and Jamal Asadi, an environmental activist from Sanandaj, were called to the intelligence office of the city.
As reported, the two activists were interrogated for several hours. The questioning focused on their participation in events for International Workers’ Day, International Women’s Day, support for imprisoned labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi, the funeral of labor activist Mozaffar Saleh Nia, and efforts to organize protests.
After the interrogation was concluded, Payam Fathi and Jamal Asadi were released. So far, no further details regarding these summons have been announced by official authorities.
