According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, An Iranian-Baloch citizen in Nehbandan was shot by military forces and lost his life. His companion was also arrested and taken to an undisclosed location.
Reports indicate that law enforcement forces from Sarbisheh pursued a vehicle carrying two Balochis outside of their jurisdiction and ultimately fired at it near Khomeini Mosque in Nehbandan.
In this incident, 21-year-old Amir Ahmad Sarani died from gunshot wounds to his abdomen and kidney, while the driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Habib Sarani, was arrested.
Once again, concerns about the excessive use of force by military forces in Iran have escalated. The direct shooting of an innocent citizen going about their work is a clear violation of human rights and the right to life.
