Peyman Jamshidian, a political activist who was previously sentenced to one year in prison on charges of propaganda activities against the regime, was released from Evin Prison after serving his sentence on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mr. Jamshidian was arrested by security forces in Tehran on July 2, 2023, and transferred to Evin Prison.
He was tried and sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari.
Born on June 14, 1974, Jamshidian has a history of arrests and judicial confrontations.
