This prisoner, whose identity has been confirmed as 46-year-old Hasan Mehraban, was sentenced to self-retribution on the charge of “deliberate murder”
On Thursday, Hassan Mehraban was taken to solitary confinement with other two prisoners to execute their death sentence. The other two prisoners returned to their prisons after obtaining consent or a time break from the case.
An informed source about the details of Hassan Mehraban’s case told the Iranian Human Rights Organization: “Hasan Mehraban had killed his ex-wife. After divorcing his first wife, he remarried, but due to dispute with his ex-wife, he killed her.
The execution of this prisoner has not been announced by the Iranian media or official sources until the moment of writing this news.
The lack of classification for intentional homicide in Iran makes any type of murder regardless of the severity, weakness and motivation of the accused lead to the issuance of a death sentence.
