Osman Esmaili, a labor activist, was released from Saqez prison on bail after interrogation and receiving the charges
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, at noon on Monday, April 17th, 2023, Osman Esmaili, a labor activist who was imprisoned with undecided case in the prison of Saqez city of Kurdistan province, was released on bail after completion of interrogation and explaining the charges.
This labor activist has faced many cases following his peaceful activities for labor’s right for the labor community.
According to an informed source: “About noon this Monday, Mr. Esmaili, a labor activist, after 70 days of indecision, was released from Central Prison with a 1 billion tomans bail.”
It is necessary to mention that Osman Esmaili, while he was returning home, on (Shohada) street in this city, from his walk with his son, was arrested and threatened by the security forces on February 8th, 2023. After being transferred to the intelligence department of Saqez city and being interrogated for several hours, the son of this labor activist was released, but Othman Esmaili was transferred to the detention center of that security agency in the city of Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province, to file a case, and on March 15th, 2023. After going through the interrogation process and the explanation of the charge, he was transferred to the prison of Saqez city.
This labor activist has been arrested or summoned many times before by the security agencies of Saqez city.
